American Legion has flags to sell

The Little Library on the corner or College and Main Street has children’s books - available to all. In the covered area between the sanctuary and Sunday School building (on Taylor Street) there is a bookshelf with adult reading materials. Take what you want - add what you can. Keep reading!!

Calling all former Guacamole Queens

The reunion committee of Sweetgum High School will crown a Now and Forever Guacamole Queen at the final reunion. The winner will be selected from former Guacamole Queens. A secret group of three people will make the selection. The top contenders appear to be Gaynelle Verdeen and Lamerle Verdeen Minshew. Rumor has it that if one of these ladies wins the other one will have to leave Sweetgum. Stay tuned for more information as the race heats up.

Museum to host quilt show

Hamilton County 4-H is hosting a Fun Day on July 27 at 5 p.m. at Hamilton City Pool. Youth are invited to learn about wildlife and enjoy a swim day! Hot dogs will be served.

United Care needs volunteers

Hamilton United Care is not accepting clothing and household donations because of a shortage of voluntkeers. The organization typically accepts these at the side bay door on Mondays from 1 to 3 p.m. at 111 W. Ross, but has suspemded this service until more help can be found. To volunteer, contact Tica McDaniel.
