Sue Rogers Blake

Sue Rogers Blake, 67, daughter of Marian Rogers, was found dead in her mobile home on Jan. 19.

Her death was ruled peaceful and from unknown causes. Her body was donated to Texas A&M Dental School in Dallas.

She was an elementary teacher for 29 years, most recently at Northside in San Antonio.

She was a faithful member of Park Heights Church of Christ. Her hobby was clogging, and she taught a class and was in the Brazos Valley Cloggers, a performance group in Waco.

She will be missed by her friends and family.

Dianne Collins

Martha Dianne Galindo-Collins, 44, of Hamilton passed on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019, with her family by her side.

Services were held at Riley Funeral Home on Monday, Jan. 28.

She was born May 3, 1974, in Clifton, to Mike and Chris Galindo. She lived all her childhood in Hamilton and attended Ann Whitney Elementary, graduating Hamilton High School in the class of 1992. Her sophomore year she met her husband, Kelly Collins. They began their life together on Sept. 21, 1994.

John Hall

John David “Big John” Hall, 33, passed away Jan 14, 2019.

Funeral services were at St John Lutheran Thursday, Jan. 17. Burial was in St Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Shive, under the direction of Riley Funeral Home.

John was born Oct. 18, 1985, to James “Sandy” Hall and Roseann Renken Hall.

John’s dedication to the Hamilton Bulldogs began early in his life. With enthusiasm he approached Coach Wright insisting they needed his help. Coach Wright answered, “You know John, I think you’re right.” That was the day John started his long run as Hamilton Bulldog Coaches Assistant.

Betty Opryshek

Betty Ann Opryshek, 88, of Hamilton passed away Friday, Jan. 11, 2019.

A memorial service will be Jan. 26 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville.

Mrs. Opryshek was born June 2, 1930, in Baytown to Lila and Ray Cecil Weaver Sr.

She was a woman of faith who daily read her devotionals and prayed before beginning her day. She loved to write children’s stories and songs for her grandchildren. She submitted the Shive News to the Hamilton Herald-News for a few years. Betty and John loved traveling with RV club friends.

Jerry Gautier

Jerry Wayne “Jute” Gautier, 79, died Jan. 11, 2019, in Bentonville, Arkansas.

A memorial service was held Saturday, Jan. 19, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville.

Jerry was born Feb. 3, 1939, to Claud and Sybil Gautier in Killeen. He grew up in Hamilton with his four brothers and two sisters and graduated from Hamilton High School in 1958.

He served his nation in the United States Army, joined the Waco Fire Department in 1961 and worked as a firefighter until his retirement in 1999.

John Hall

John Hall, 33, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Jan. 14, 2019. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, at Riley Funeral Home. Services will be Thursday
