John Hall
John David “Big John” Hall, 33, passed away Jan 14, 2019.
Funeral services were at St John Lutheran Thursday, Jan. 17. Burial was in St Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Shive, under the direction of Riley Funeral Home.
John was born Oct. 18, 1985, to James “Sandy” Hall and Roseann Renken Hall.
John’s dedication to the Hamilton Bulldogs began early in his life. With enthusiasm he approached Coach Wright insisting they needed his help. Coach Wright answered, “You know John, I think you’re right.” That was the day John started his long run as Hamilton Bulldog Coaches Assistant.
John worked tirelessly for Hamilton athletics doing anything that was asked of him. He was a devoted servant to his team and loved those kids with all his heart. In May of 2005 John received the Student Assistant of the Year award from Hamilton High School. He especially loved his time riding with Coach D after games, listening to music, talking about finding a girlfriend and solving the world’s problems.
He never met a stranger and would talk your ear off to anyone who wanted to visit.
John was a devoted member of the community, willing to help any time he was needed. He was often seen at the Hamilton County Youth Fair. He always took pride in giving the Jennifer Hall Memorial Award at the stock shows and the Jennifer Hall Scholarship at graduation. He was most proud to be considered a Hamilton Bulldog!
John served as a deacon at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Shive from 2011-2017. He was a committed member to his church, and he loved Jesus.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Jennifer Ann Hall; grandparents Nathan and Billie Hall and Kermit and Lilly Renken; aunt Kay Blair; and cousin Noah Weidebusch.
John is survived by his parents Sandy and Roseann, brother and sister-in-law Sam and Chelsi and nephews Nathan and Mason, all of Hamilton; aunts Kathy Renken and Barbara Weidebusch, both of Hamilton; uncle Chuck Blair of Gholson; cousins Misty and Wes Clepper, Gary Schumann, Kelli “Nicole” Clepper, Bryden Clepper, Donica Clepper Martin, Kyson Martin, Melvin and Tabatha Burrows, Aaron Burrows, Sara Conner, Cody and Stephanie Sheets, Cali and Chloe Sheets, Cody and Mica Willoughby, Chris Blair, Jaedon and Braxton Blair, Bill and BK Cooper and Hannah and Chelsea Cooper; and numerous family and friends.
