Hamilton Community Center will serve a free Thanksgiving lunch on Thanksgiving Day from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the center on Main Street on the square.

DRT has program on period clothing

The program for the November meeting of the Bosque River Chapter of Daughters of the Republic of Texas was presented by chapter member Sheran Weible of Dublin. She researches clothing from various periods of history and sews many garments herself. Weible wore a dress of the period of the Republic of Texas, early 1840s, called a wrapper. It was a dress to be worn around the house but could then be dressed up to wear to town or to social events by the addition of petticoats, under sleeves, a collar, gloves and hat.

Health fair Thursday

Hamilton and its surrounding communities have been blessed with state-of-the-art healthcare. Through Hamilton Healthcare System, residents have access to a nationally- awarded Top 20 Critical Access Hospital, three rural health clinics, wellness center, surgical, behavioral, eye care and wound clinics, AACVPRSee Page 6A certified cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, diabetes education, physical therapy and more. Not all rural communities enjoy these services.

Council condemns property

Hamilton City Council last Thursday discussed two substandard properties, allowing a weather station to be mounted to a water tower, improvements at the Hamilton Municipal Airport and a response from Texas Commission on Environmental Quality regarding water capacity requirements.
