Dogs tip cap to Millsap; Set sights on eye of the Tigers

Mirroring last season’s home opener versus Millsap where Hamilton spotted the visiting team a 19-6 halftime lead, the Hamilton Bulldogs again allowed the Millsap Bulldogs a head start last Friday.

Hamilton’s Lady Bulldog cross-country team placed fourth at the Moody Invitational last Friday led by sophomore Katie Galloway who finished 12th overall, completing the two-mile course in a time of 14:10.8. Hamilton chased Meridian, Moody and West while outpacing Whitney, Clifton, Lexington, Priddy, Groesbeck, Thorndale, Axtell and Bosqueville. Galloway was joined on the course by Hamilton’s freshmen fab-five.

Hamilton’s Sawyer Wright (left) and Macie Parrish (right) are pictured above slamming spikes versus Evant during a road match played last Friday evening. After dropping the first two sets, the Lady Bulldogs fought back in the third and fourth to force a deciding fifth set. A talented Evant squad prevailed 15-8 over the Lady Dogs in the final.

Following a second-placed finish in the Temple Invitational two weeks ago, the Bulldog cross-country team made up of six sophomores again earned a team silver last Friday at the Moody Invitational. Caleb Lengefeld placed second individually in Temple and led the entire field last Friday in Moody, finishing the three-mile course in a gold medal winning time of 16:59.6.
