DESTINATION DIG- First Baptist Church held Backyard Bible Club last week; St. John Lutheran’s Vacation Bible School started Tuesday; and First United Methodist will have VBS next week.

Cheer camp registration due

Hamilton High School Cheerleaders will host Little Cheer Camp for Pre-K through 6 grade students July 12-14, 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Forms are available at the Ann Whitney Elementary and high school offices and are due back with $30 registration fee by Thursday. Cemetery meeting set at Blue Ridge

Methodist Church hosting VBS

Hamilton First United Methodist Church will host Vacation Bible School June 28-30 at 215 W. Main from 8:30 to 11 a.m. for age 5 through 5th grade completion. Pre-register online at fumchamiltontx.com or come by the office and pick up a form.

Model aircraft fly this weekend

The Texas Cloud Climbers invite visitors to the Spence Memorial Freelight Contest on June 26 and 27 at the Hamilton Municipal Airport. Come see what free flight model aircraft are about. Bring the kids and enjoy watching the flying this Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Women swim

Adult women swim time is Tuesday and Thursday at Hamilton City Pool, 10-11 a.m.

St. John Lutheran hosting VBS

St. John Lutheran Church will host Vacation Bible School June 22-24, 5-7:20 p.m. with a meal starting at 5. VBS will be for potty-trained three-year olds through fourth grade completion. Register at stjohnhamilton.org/vbs.html

Strechology at St. Mary’s

Saint Mary’s Anglican Church presents Strechology with Christie, an hour-long wellness class focused on building strength, flexibility, and balance through stretching. Classes are Wednesday, 6-7 p.m. in the parish hall, corner of Highway 36 and College Street. Parking is in the north side parking lot. Classes will be $5 per class.

Vaccines available at mobile clinics

Texas Division of Emergency Management and Texas Military Department are conducting free Mobile COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics.

Businesses or civic organizations can contact the State Mobile Vaccination Team Call Center at 844-90-TEXAS and select Option 3 to schedule a visit from a state mobile vaccine team to vaccinate employees, visitors or members.

To qualify for a visit, a business or civic organization must have 10 or more employees, visitors or members who voluntarily choose to be vaccinated.

Community Outreach, Bancorp South partner for first-time buyers

Community Outreach Housing is partnering with BancorpSouth and other local professionals to bring the first-time buyers program to Hamilton.

Prospective home buyers can learn more at a meeting June 29 at 6 p.m. at BancorpSouth, 200 S. Bell St., Hamilton.

The purpose of the meeting is to identify families that may qualify for first-time home buyers’ incentive programs including zero down payment, understanding cred it reports and how to build a better credit score, developing a savings program and understanding escrow and PMI accounts.
