After beginning the season with a 56-18 victory in Whitney and a 46-38 home opening win over Millsap on Tuesday of last week, the now 5-1 Lady Bulldog basketball team stayed home to host the Hamilton Lady Bulldog Basketball Tournament last Thursday through Saturday and earned a runner-up finish. On Thursday, the Lady Dogs pummeled McGregor 69-31 and returned later in the afternoon to polish off a 58-37 win over Brownwood. Facing Llano in the semi-final round on Friday, the Lady Bulldogs cruised to a 51-22 victory. On Saturday, the 20th state-ranked Lady Bulldogs faced the 13th state-ranked Lady Eagles of Goldthwaite in the championship game and fell by a competitive 33-25 margin. Hamilton was scheduled to play in Hico on Monday of this week before hosting San Saba on Tuesday. Following the Thanksgiving break, the Lady Bulldogs will take another shot at Goldthwaite on the road next Tuesday. The JV girls will tip off at 4 p.m., followed by the varsity at 6:15.
