November- As is tradition, parents of HHS seniors and HJH eighth graders took over the final pep rallies to both embarrass and celebrate their students with all forms of costuming and entertainment. Hamilton’s eighth grade Bulldog football team was crowned the undisputed District 8-3A, Div. II champions after trouncing the Florence Buffaloes at home 42-0 in their final ballgame to rubberstamp a perfect 8-0 season record. Team members included Ben Cooper, Evan Norwood, Miguel Gonzalez, Carson Marquess, Kevin Smythe, Josh Galloway, Levi Meurer, Treyden Tatum, Logan York , Eric Rontu, Hunter Mize, Cooper LeGrande, Ryan Worbington, Leonel Cardenas, Ace Lane, Tommy Carson, Reese Hungerford, Cole Bauman, Irakio Gonzalez, Hayden Blackwell, Konner Ford and managers, Joe Polster and Kade McKandless. Hamilton’s seventh grade Bulldog football team capped the 2019 season with a 20-0 home victory over Florence. The young Dogs finished with a 5-2-1 overall record and were 3-1 district runners-up behind only Lexington. The seventh grade roster was filled by manager Joe Polster, Nik Adams, Cason Glezman, Rogelio Ibarra, Matthew Craig, Ryan Brown, Hagen Phillips, manager Kade McKandless, Jaxon Edwards, Yeydy Rivas, Cotey Charles, Abraham Puente, Nic Lord, Ben Weaver, Garrett Guinn, Mason Sanchez, Braeden Seider, Braycin Parrish, Maddox Stroud, Owen Tyson, Jacob Collins, Kazdon Thedford, Bryce Bankston, Jackson Bates, Kase Kunkel and Mason Tubbs. Caleb Lengefeld was surrounded by family, friends, coaches, teachers and school administrators as he competed in the Texas UIL State Cross Country meet in Round Rock. As a sophomore, Lengefeld ran a 5:24 mile pace, completing the 3.06-mile state course in Round Rock in a time of 16:47.00 to place 36 th out of the top 150 3A-Div II runners in all of Texas. After falling on the road to Lexington on the first day of November to move to 5-4 on the season and 0-3 in district, the Hamilton Bulldog football team returned to Kooken Field the following Friday to host their district foe Florence Buffaloes. Similar to the previous season, the Bulldogs racked up 597 total yards of offense in trouncing Florence 63- 28 to earn their second playoff berth in as many years competing in the 3A conference. The Bulldogs fell to Palmer in their bi-district bid played in Whitney the following week to finish the season with a winning 6-5 record. It marked the final game for 14 seniors to include Cade Kneuper, Shane Catoe, Matt Zschiesche, Dylan Washko, Ty Bates, Jacob King, John Ceresini, Jace Slone, Caleb Niemann, Payton Bagwell, Triston Stone, Tim Hill, Luis Perez and Stuart Cortez. All twelve Hamilton Lady Bulldogs received District 6-3A volleyball honors. Morgan Mehaffey, a junior, was named to the first team, and junior Macie Parrish received second team all-district recognition. Senior Lainey Hale and freshman Alissta Thedford were awarded honorable mention nods.
