Hico’s Old Settlers Reunion will kick off next Tuesday, July 11, with the Miss Hico Scholarship Pageant in HiCo Hall. The pageant is free and begins at 6 p.m. Hamburgers by Dos Burros.
A breed that began in the 1500s, the American Mustang is as prime example of the melting pot that embodies the country of their origin. The hearty breed is thought to have descended from horses brought to America with Spanish missionaries and explorers. In the 1800s, those wild horses again mingled with released or escaped pioneer livestock.
Pearl Church of Christ, 6790 FM 183 in Pearl, will have revival services Saturday and Sunday July 8-9, Saturday’s speaker will be Wil Jackson, and the 7 p.m. service will be followed by homemade ice cream and snacks.
