Karleen Roberts

Our precious Karleen A. Roberts, 89, went into the arms of our loving Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2024, in Hamilton with her devoted husband John Roberts by her side.

A visitation for Karleen will was held Tuesday, Oct. 1, followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. at Riley Funeral Home.

Born in December 1934 in San Antonio to Harry and Charlotte Anderlitch, Karleen was a woman of deep faith, kindness and grace. Her compassion for others was unmatched, and her radiant positivity was a light to all who knew her. She was never heard to speak ill of anyone, always saw the best in people and found joy in even the simplest moments. Karleen’s laughter was infectious, and her love for her stepchildren, nephew, aunts, uncles and other family members was unwavering.

As a young girl, Karleen loved to dance, and it was through dancing that she met the love of her life, John Roberts. They shared more than 44 wonderful years of marriage, filled with joy, love and countless dances together.

Karleen was also a dedicated hospital volunteer in San Antonio, known for her generous heart and kind spirit.

In 1959, Karleen lost her beloved brother Rodney in an Air Force aircraft accident, a loss that shaped her heart with empathy for those who grieve. She often became the family’s “go-to” in times of loss, providing calm and support through many difficult moments.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Rodney, and great-nephew James Anderlitch.

Karleen is survived by her husband, John Roberts; her stepchildren, Cathy (Chris) Warren of Leander and Paul (Deanna) Roberts of Lago Vista; her nephew Robert (Sally) Anderlitch of Keller; her grandchildren, Ashley and Cassie Warren and Molly, John and Samuel Roberts; her great-niece Sarah (Robert) Upshaw; great-nephew Peter (Mercedes) Anderlitch; her great-great- nieces and nephews; and countless friends and extended family.

Karleen’s life was a testament to her unwavering faith in God, and her hope in Christ’s promises has now been fulfilled. As Revelation 21:4 reminds us, she is experiencing a place where “every tear has been wiped away.”

Though she will be deeply missed, her family and friends take comfort in knowing that she is now with the Lord, and they look forward to the day they are reunited with her in Heaven.

Serving as pallbearers were Bobby Anderlitch, Paul Roberts, John Paul Roberts, Cliff Dearing, Chris Warren and Bobby Roberts.
