Elsie Sommerfeld

Elsie Gay Sommerfeld, a beloved mother, loving spouse and devoted grandmother, passed away Aug. 23, 2024, at the age of 80.

A celebration of life to honor her will be held at a later date.

Born on Sept. 16, 1943, in Douglas, Arizona, to James Edgar Kuykendall and Ruby K. Reynolds Kuykendall. Elsie lived a life marked by her unwavering love for her family and her boundless compassion for others.

Elsie is survived by her cherished husband, Joe; her three daughters, Liz, Tess (Gary) and Aime (Patrick); and seven grandchildren, Brance, Kelsie, Grace, Justice, Aurora, Sophia and Rowan.

Elsie will fondly be remembered for her nurturing spirit and generous heart. Her legacy of kindness and dedication will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Nicki Covers the Cold or Camp Sweeny in Elsie’s memory.
