Carl (Carly) Edward Janner

Carl (Carly) Edward Janner died Aug. 9, 2023.

Family will receive friends at Comanche Funeral Home on Wednesday, Aug. 16, for visitation at the chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. A church service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, at the Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark Schimmel officiating.

Carl was born April 15, 1941, to Edward (Ed) Janner and Martha (Schrader) Janner. He graduated from Priddy High School.

Carl met the love of his life Linda Dorene Elliott and they married Oct. 21, 1961. Carl and Linda had two children, son Dirk and daughter Shannon.

Carl was a lifetime member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 286, Austin. Initiated on Sept. 20, 1965, until his death.

Carl and Linda were lifelong ranchers with a great compassion for animals. Instead of branding, ear tags or ear notching, all their cattle had names.

Carl had a great sense of humor, incredible wit and an uncanny ability to play poker, dice and scratch off tickets. He was a loving husband, Dad granddad and great-granddad. He loved spending time with family.

Carl was preceded in death by his father Ed Janner and mother Martha Janner, brother Leroy Janner and Leroy’s wife Norma Janner.

He is survived by wife Linda Dorene Janner; son Dirk Edward Janner and wife Dorene Lynne Janner; daugh-ter Shannon Renee and husband Stephen Glatter; grandchildren Dustin and wife Dana Janner, Dylan and wife Megan Janner, Coe Janner, Ashlee and husband Junior Moya, Hollie and husband Matthew Medina, Kelcie and husband Ty Kuhn, Lance and wife Heather Hopper and Baylee and husband Paul MacMillan; and 23 great-grandchildren.
