David Holley
David Earl Holley, 78, of Hamilton passed away Friday, Sept. 3, 2021.
Graveside services were Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Lanham Cemetery.
David was born in Hamilton County on July 29, 1943, to Lucille and Alton Holley.
In 1961 he graduated from barber school in Waco and started his first job at Kirkland Barber shop in Comanche. David’s goal was to become an accountant while working as a barber to pay for school.
On the way to Fort Worth accounting school, David’s car broke down, and he spent the next 54 years as a barber. David started working in Hamilton with Jack Maddox before starting his own shop, Holley’s Barber Shop.
David was married for 41 years to Hellen Jones Holley. David loved doing woodwork, ranching and helping other people.
He is survived by his wife Hellen Holley; daughters Wanda Vaughn, Hollie Fredrick and husband Stan, Lisa Allen and husband Michael; brothers Ronald and wife Jo Ann, Arnold and wife Mickey; grandkids Jessie, Trevor, Michael, Natalie, Kayli, Tristan, Peyton, Robert and Eric.
David is preceded in death by his parents Alton Neely Holley and Sarah Lucille Holley and a sister, Nancy Swint.
