Jackie Barnes

Alice Lydia Reining was born July 1, 1924 in Ayshire, Iowa. The seventh of nine children, she was given the nickname Jackie as a young girl.

At the age of 19, Jackie, her sister and brother-in-law moved to Hamilton, where she met Charles N. Barnes.

The starry-eyed teenagers met on a Saturday night and married the next Friday. They embarked on a 67-year journey of epic proportion, or so it seemed to those who loved them.

She was preceded in death by her son, Don Barnes, and her husband, Charles Barnes.

Jackie is survived by her daughter and husband Connie and Marvin Behnke; four grandchildren, Kay Wylie, LeAnn Wilkins, Bryan Barnes, and Kristi Kinney; nine great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
