Mildred Kauitzsch
Mildred Christianson Kauitzsch, 93, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2019.
Funeral services were Friday, July 12, at Riley Funeral Home. Burial followed in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Pottsville.
Mrs. Kauitzsch was born March 30, 1926, in Hamilton to Alfred and Lena Christianson.
She graduated from Pottsville High School. She married Cecil A. Kauitzsch in 1943, and they were married 74 years before his passing in 2017.
Mildred lived most of her life in Hamilton County, except for in Kyoto, Japan, while her husband served as a pilot in World War II. After returning to Texas, Mildred was a homemaker before working as an administrative assistant in the medical field in the 1960s. Mildred’s faith was mighty, and she was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.
She loved simple pleasures such as entertaining friends and family around her kitchen table, cooking with fresh produce from her garden and sewing. Her sons say she was the best cook in Hamilton County.
Mildred lived her 93 years as a devoted wife, loving mother and loyal friend.
Survivors include her sister, Charlie Krueger of Fort Worth; sons Mike Kauitzsch and wife Kellie of Sunnyvale and Gary Kauitzsch and wife Suzanne of Garland; four grandchildren, Steve Kauitzsch and wife Pecca, Donna Rickets and husband Lance, Aaron Kauitzsch and wife Krista and Lindsey Kauitzsch; six great-grandchildren, Lauren and Michael Yates, Collin and Campbell Kauitzsch, Nolan and Knox Kauitzsch; a great-great-grandchild, Emma Yates; and several nieces and nephews.
