Larissa Smith

Larissa LeeAnn Smith, 46, of Jonesboro, passed away Jan. 2, 2019, in Gatesville.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19, at Calvary Baptist Church in Hamilton.

Larissa was born July 14, 1972, in Wheatridge, Colorado, to Freddy Jack and Sharon Ann Lee Smith. She graduated from Fabens High School and earned a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Hardin Simmons University. She was a social worker in skilled nursing facilities for most of her career, including at Dove Hill in Hamilton for 10 years and most recently at The Meadows at Coryell Health in Gatesville for four years. Her biggest joy and knowledge came from working with the elderly and hearing their wisdom.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include brothers James “Larry” Smith and wife Diane of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Tobin Smith of Jonesboro; nieces Sharon and Morgan Smith of Colorado Springs; and many friends, residents, and her church family.

Memorials may be made to Coryell Health, American Cancer Society, or Salvation Army.
