Valerie Wilson
Nancy “Valerie” Wilson, 80, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2023.
Services were Friday, Dec. 29, at Riley Funeral Home officiated by her nephew and nephew-in-law, Stephen Feind and Mike Little. Burial was in Rosemound Cemetery in Waco.
Valerie was born Feb. 18, 1943, in McLennan County to James Hill and Ethel Elizabeth (Brink) Lassetter. She graduated high school in China Springs.
Valerie worked and retired from the Sammon’s Cable Co. in Fort Worth. She was a loving mother and grandmother (MeMe) as she raised everyone up in God’s word as she read her bible and prayed daily. She loved fishing, playing Mexican Train, Skip-Bo and horseshoes. She also loved chicken fried steak.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ethel Elizabeth (Brink) Lassetter and James Hill Lassetter; three brothers, Garner, George “G.B” and Jimmy Lassetter; four sisters, Corren Young, Liz Tuggle, Wanda Behnke and Helen Feind; granddaughter Chantelle Bruce Menton; and son-in-law, Michael Edward Bruce.
She is survived by a son, Bryan Kunze and wife Dawn of Palacios; a daughter, Bridget Kunze Bruce of Hamilton; three grandchildren, LaShea Bruce Ratliff and her husband John Ratliff, Michael-Isaac Bruce and Chasidy Kunze; seven great- grandchildren, Shayla, Shabri, Shaunie and Sh’Tije Menton; Aden and Axel Ratliff and Azek Bruce; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers were Michael- Isaac Bruce, John Ratliff, Aden Ratliff, Marty Martin, Mike Little, Tate Ruddick and Stephen Feind.
