Tess Kiefer

Theresa Beth (Tess) Kiefer, 87, passed away in Longview Dec. 4, 2019.

Funeral services were held at Riley Funeral Home Saturday, Dec. 7, with burial in Oakwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Kiefer was born Oct. 31, 1932, in Giles, the daughter of R.O. Kelley and Maurine Hoggard Kelley.  She graduated from Giles High School and moved to Hamilton in 1961.

She was the owner of City Drug for 30 years in Hamilton.

She had a passion for all animals, raising alpacas and her dog Gracie.

Tess was preceded in death by her husbands, Bob McCown and Norman Kiefer.

Survivors include two sons, James McCown of Georgetown and Robert McCown and wife Laura of Longview; grandchildren Natasha Pocock and her husband Beau, Sean McCown, Morgan McCown and wife Hana, Kailee McCown and fiancé Shawn Semple, Robert McCown, Matthew Wilson, wife Brandi and Quinn and Kara Robinson and husband Dennis.

Pallbearers were Shawn Simple, Charlie Bottlinger, Jimmy Payne, Steve Watson, Jimmy Moncrief and James Yates.

Memorial donations can be made to the Hamilton County Historical Museum or local charities.
