Roy Bates
William Roy Bates, 41, of Hamilton passed away Oct. 18, 2020, in Fort Worth.
A memorial service was held Oct. 26, at Riley Funeral Home in Hamilton.
Roy was born in Lampasas on May 11, 1979, to William Randy Bates and Julia (Stockton) Jones.
He spent most of his life in the Hamilton area. He had a love for life and people. If someone was ever in need, Roy did everything he could to help them out. Roy thought the world of his children and grandchild. He enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them. He was the type of person that took honesty to the next level and passed that trait on to his kids. Roy had a huge impact on their lives.
Even though Roy was a grown man, he was a huge Momma’s boy and wasn’t afraid to admit it. He loved fishing, riding his bike, camping, shooting, forging knives and just about anything outdoors. Roy was a proud member of the Booze Fighters Motorcycle Club. He left a lasting impression on just about anyone he met. Roy loved spending this last year with Regina. They shared so many special memories together. He will be truly missed by all.
Roy was preceded in death by his grandfather, Clarence Stockton; and his brother; Rocky Bates.
He is survived by his partner Regina; mother Julia Jones and Isaac of Hamilton; father William Randy Bates of Ireland; daughters Belle Islas of Granbury and Arynn Thompson of Fort Worth; sons Noah Thompson of Granbury, Nick Bates of Hamilton and Isaac Bates of South Dakota; grandparents Dorothy Stockton and Roy and Rita Bates; sisters Deven Hill (Colton) and Brittany Bates; brothers Alec Bates and Christopher Bates; and numerous cousins and friends.
