Ronnie Lynn McKinzie, 78, passed away in the early morning hours of Jan. 2, 2024, at his home in the country outside Hamilton.

Services were Sunday, Jan. 7, at Riley Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.

Ronnie was born Oct. 24, 1945, in Comanche to Jewel Raymond and Mary Louise (Layman) McKinzie.

In his early adulthood, Ronnie was a Journeyman sheet metal worker who graduated at the top of his class. He was an excellent metal worker, and his attention to detail was unmatched.

During the 1980s he started driving a truck for Fort Worth Carrier doing Dillard’s distribution and continued this until he retired.

Ronnie’s circle of family and friends reached far and wide, and he held great affection for those in his circle. If Ronnie loved you, he left no doubt.

Ronnie’s hobbies included racing flat track and cross-country motorcycles, knowing all types of engines inside and out.

Ronnie loved hunting, and he hosted an annual opening day dove hunt. He also enjoyed deer hunting as long as he was able, keeping a deer lease on the Leon River for many years and hunting on his own place after that.

Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Jewell McKinzie and Danny McKinzie; and his sister, June (McKinzie) Sims.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 38 years, Pamela Darlene (Tubbs) McKinzie; sons Matthew Dillon McKinzie and his wife Betsy, Ronnie Lynn McKinzie Jr. and his wife Jennifer and Billy Bart McKinzie; stepsons Jesse Collins and his wife Anne and Adam Collins and his wife Vanessa; along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Roper Crosthwaite, Roger Hill, Scott Hill, Sean Hill, Ray Patterson and Taylor Morris.

Honorary pallbearers were Johnny Luttrell and Bruce Myers.
