Ron Jones

Ronald (Ron) Ervin Jones, 76, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away March 14, 2023, at home surrounded by family after a short illness.

Services were held April 24 at Riverside Funeral Home in Albuquerque, and a portion of his ashes were interred at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Ashes will also be interred at Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton at 2 p.m. May 6.

Ron was born in Fort Worth to William Ervin Jones and Margaret Natrell Davis Jones on April 10, 1946. He grew up in Hamilton, surrounded by extended family. He played football and graduated from Hamilton High School in 1964.

During and after high school he played drums in several local bands, and in 1966, he joined the Air Force where he served for three years.

After his service, he worked for Honeywell Corporation for 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Ervin and Margaret Natrell Jones, and wife Lynda Darlene Jones.

He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Dianne Elliott Jones; his sister Natrell Floyd (Rocky); sons Ron Elliott Jones (Sue) and Sean Jones (Danielle); stepchildren Deanna Sandy (Manuel), Brian Pierce (Jessica) and Amber Chavez; 13 grandchildren, three great-granddaughters; and many nieces, nephews and cousins; four brothers-in-law; and a sisterin- law. Memorial donations may be made to The American Cancer Society.
