Roger Bushee

Roger Allan Bushee, 84, of Clifton, passed away in Clifton Oct. 4, 2024.

A celebration of life and faith will be held at St. John Lutheran Church in Hamilton Oct. 12 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Aaron Kalbas officiating, followed by a light lunch at the family life center.

Roger was born Oct. 5, 1939, to Tom and Marion Bushee in Searsburg, Vermont. He was raised in Searsburg, where he graduated from Wilmington High School in 1957. He joined the United States Air Force in February 1958 and served for 4 ½ years. He met the love of his life. “Neet” at Westover Air Force Base in Massachusetts, and they were married Sept. 1, 1962, in Brattleboro, Vermont.

To this union are three children, Tim, Tammy and Shawn Bushee.

Roger worked as a pressman for several newspapers before attaining his barber license in Waco in 1966. Roger was a barber for a number of years. He earned his real estate license in 1974. In 1980, Roger started his own real estate business, where he enjoyed putting buyers and sellers together for 50 years.

Roger is survived by wife, Juanita “Neet” Bushee; children Tim and Erika Bushee, Gary and Tammy Boles and Shawn and Brandi Bushee; grandchildren Kevin, Matthew and Elizabeth, Cooper, Mallory and Ben, Tanner, Dakota and Tyler, Jordan, Abby and Kale, Cody and Alex, Casey, Cheyenne and Clint; great-grandchildren Hudson, Harrison, Everett, Nora, Cade, Cash, Cassidy, Charlie, Lattie, Hattlie and Nikolas; siblings Tommy Bushee, Tom Dinney, Pat Bushee, AnnMarie Helms and Bobbie Hudspith.

Roger was dearly devoted to his church St. Olaf Lutheran Church In Cranfills Gap and St. John Lutheran Church in Hamilton. Roger found pleasure caring for critters that made their way to his back yard. He enjoyed being surrounded by his family and friends, traveling, a good Texas Rangers game, a hard day’s work, back porch sitting with a cigar and a nip of Jack Daniels, and most of all, taking Neet for a twirl on the kitchen dance floor. Everyone will miss Roger, especially his family. We loved him dearly!

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to St. John Lutheran Church in Hamilton and/or The Rock Church in Cranfills Gap.

Arrangements were entrusted to Lawson Funeral Home, Meridian.
