Marsha Brown
Marsha Kay Brown of Hamilton passed on to be with our Lord on July 30, 2023.
Visitation will be Aug. 3 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Riley Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held Aug. 4 at 3 p.m. at Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Chris Neal officiating, followed by burial in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Aleman.
Marsha was born May 11, 1960, in Waco, the daughter of Morris and Darlene Brown. She was a graduate of Evant High School. Marsha was an employee of the Department of Family and Protective Services for many years before taking an early retirement while she battled cancer.
Marsha was a fun-loving individual who just seemed to have a way of making life a little sweeter for everyone. She was never happier than when surrounded by family and friends. She battled Stage IV cancer for the past fiveplus years and handled this and many other obstacles that fell her way with great courage and strength.
She was preceded in death by her loving grandparents, Ernest and Otillie Sommerfeld; brother Robert Brown on Oct. 8, 1982; sister Belinda McAnally on March 14, 2013; fiancée Roy May, on Aug. 11, 2013; and mother Darlene Brown on March 9, 2014.
Survivors include her son Tommy Dorsey, wife Alicia and children Julian, Naomi, Rachel and Alana; son Jason Dorsey, wife Wendy and son Dalen; son Chris Dorsey, wife Keisha and daughters Jayla, Bella and Phoebe; Krystal Dorsey, daughter Yazmin and grandchildren; sister Janet Shedd and spouse Cindy Bruton; brother-in-law David McAnally; niece Monica Andrews and husband Billy; niece Misty Gann and husband Michael; niece Michelle Neal and husband Chris; nephew Chris Niemann and wife Jennifer; and niece Kniesha Rocha and husband Cesar; great-nephews and -nieces Bryce and Jeremiah Andrews, Jake Gann, Elijah and Gabriel Neal, Kirsten, Caleb and Karah Niemann, Preston, Victoria, Drew and Jewel Rocha; best friend Lucy Lowrey; aunts, uncles, many cousins, special friends; and her dogs Janice and Sampson, who brought a lot of joy to her life.
In lieu of flowers, she wishes for any donations to be made to St. Jude or the charity of your choice. Marsha’s life was a true blessing, her memory will always hold a special place in our hearts. She had a way of making you laugh a little louder, smile a little bigger and live just a little bit better.
