Margie Kaye Gleaton, 73, passed away Sept. 4, 2024, in Hamilton after a long illness.

A memorial service celebrating Margie’s life will be held Sept. 21 at 10:30 a.m. at Comanche Funeral Home.

Margie was born Sept. 5, 1950, in Salina, Oklahoma, and upon graduation from high school she had a successful career with Farmers Home Administration, which took her traveling and living all across Texas. She ultimately became the state director for the Rural Development Administration in Texas and finally settled in Comanche, where she lived and retired with her husband John.

Margie was always an active community member and was for many years president of Commanche County Medical Center Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing golf with family and friends at PAR Country Club and sitting with John on their back porch watching the golfers play through. She loved to host her grandkids for the annual weeklong golf camp and watch them compete in high school sporting events. She was an avid supporter of TCU football and enjoyed attending many games with family and friends.

She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Barbara Pollard, and sister Frances Sommerfeld.

Survivors include her husband John Gleaton of Comanche, children, Kevin Cude of Hamilton, Marcus Gleaton of Brock and Elizabeth Gleaton of Weatherford; sisters Barbara Greene of Wagoner, Oklahoma and Millie Cook of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma; she was a wonderful mother-in-law to Wendy and Shannon and beloved Hashie to her grandkids and great-grandkids Elliot, Rebecca, Piper and Beauden of Hutton, Mitchell, Ellie, Oliver and Robbie Lynn of Hamilton, Madison Cude of Peoria, Illinois, Chloe Cude of Hamilton and Jaxon, Josh and Jillian Gleaton of Brock; and she was a great aunt and friend to her nieces Chelle McCorkell and husband Tim, Carlye, Tymani, Skye and Cole of Wagoner, and Tawnda, Clif, Christian and Ashtyn Warford of Ketchum, Oklahoma, and nephew Brett, Carrie and Stephanie Greene of Wagoner.
