Linda Shipman

Linda Nell Shipman, 75, of Hamilton, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023, in Hamilton.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at First Baptist Church of Flat with Pastor Ron Lowe officiating. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. in Gentry’s Mill Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville on Wednesday, Dec. 6 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Linda was born on July 30, 1948, to the late Alvin and Mary Selman in Baytown. She grew up in the Baytown and Highlands area, graduating from Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown.

On Aug. 23, 1991, Linda married Bill Shipman and they moved to Hamilton in 1993. Linda worked as a paraprofessional at Ann Whitney Elementary School in Hamilton ISD and retired from Lee Healthcare in Hamilton. Linda was a member of First Baptist Church of Flat.

Linda enjoyed gardening and cooking but most of all enjoyed time with her family. Linda will be remembered for her kindness and her care for others. She was loved by all.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Lonnie Selman and Ricky Selman; sister Peggy Whalen; and brother-in-law, Richard Young.

Linda is survived by her husband, Bill Shipman; sons Jessie Damron and Daniel Damron; daughters Lois DeLeon, Mandy Cates, Katie Walton, Misty Jenkins and Heather Squires; sister Joy Young; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
