Kenneth Waggener
On June 19, 2023, Kenneth Eric Waggener, 86, went to be with the Lord, his Savior.
Services were Friday, June 23, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville.
He was born Sept. 11, 1936, to Marc G and Margaret Waggener.
Kenneth graduated high school in Indianapolis and received a B.S. degree from Butler University of Indiana. He joined the Air Force in 1960 and served unntil 1967 as a navigator with the rank of Captain. His tours of duty included Connally AFB, Waco; Mather AFB, Sacramento, California; Charleston AFB, Charleston, South Carolina; and Eielson AFB, Fairbanks, Alaska.
After retiring from the Air Force he worked for the US Veterans Administration from 1968 to 1994 in Waco, Dallas, Hartford, Connecticut and St. Petersburg, Florida.
On Oct. 20, 1962, Kenneth married the love of his life, Linda Witzsche. They spent 60 years together. They had two sons, Roger and Ron.
Kenneth has affiliations with Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville, Stephenville Elks Lodge #2834, VFW Post 4148 in Hamilton and the American Legion Post 222 in Hamilton.
He enjoyed gardening, visiting with friends and neighbors at backyard barbecues, volunteering at United Care and American Cancer Society and serving the church and his Lord playing the harmonica.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Marc G. and Margaret, and his brother, Marc S. Waggener and wife Katy.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; sons Ron and wife Mindy; Roger and wife Kim and their children Taylor, Delaney and fiancé Aric and grandchildren Jaxon and Axel; brother Tom and wife Liz; nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Memorial donations can be made to Trinity Lutheran General Fund, Trinity Lutheran Cemetery Fund or Trinity Lutheran Kitchen Fund.
