Kenneth Lane Miller, 58, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 7, 2020, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital, Temple, with family by his bedside.

He fought hard against a recent cancer diagnosis with several complications.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Riley Funeral Home. Services will be Thursday, June 11, at Park Heights Church of Christ at 10 a.m. followed by burial in Oakwood Cemetery.

Mr. Miller was born Dec. 23, 1961, to Patricia Ann (Bell) Grippando and Lloyd Sherrill Miller in Muleshoe. In his younger years, he lived in McAlester, Oklahoma, for a while. After graduating from Muleshoe High School in 1980, Kenneth moved to Dublin to live and work with his dad on a dairy. Later, his dad bought a dairy in Dublin, and he worked with him running it.

In February 1984, Kenneth started working for Fibergrate Composite Structures in Stephenville, while continuing to work for his dad. He was with Fibergrate for 36 years and was well known and respected in the industry.

Kenneth met his wife Deborah (Horner) Miller of Hamilton through mutual friends while she was attending Tarleton State University in Stephenville. They were married August 18, 1984 in Hamilton. Kenneth was baptized April 11, 2019, and a member of the Park Heights church of Christ in Hamilton. He was active in serving the Lord’s Supper, leading prayers, serving as an usher, fellowship activities, participating in nursing home visitation and a few months ago completed a Bible course called Fishers of Men.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and playing with his dog Boo. His pride and joys were his daughter Betsy and granddaughter Katy. They were so precious to him, and he loved them beyond words.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his grandparents, Lawrence and Lona Mae Bell and Lloyd and Mary Miller; mother Patricia Ann (Bell) Grippando; stepdad John David Grippando; dad Lloyd Sherrill Miller; and mother-in-law Betty Horner.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of 36 years, Deborah Miller of Proctor; a daughter, Betsy Ann McKinzie and husband Matt of Hamilton; a granddaughter, Katy Layne McKinzie of Hamilton; father-in-law, Glen Horner of Hamilton; a brother, Nicky Miller and wife Tawny of Denver City; two sisters, Debbie Braselton and husband Jeff of Lubbock and Lainie Miller of Daytona Beach, Florida; nieces Brandy Broderick and husband Mark of Cedar Park, Nichole Watkins and Valorie Thomas of Lubbock and Megan Crowell and husband Seth of Lindale; nephews Shane Miller and wife Jessica of Denver City, Christopher Hartline and wife Mary of Lubbock and Jerod Horner and fiancé Dallas Rettig of Dallas; and numerous great-nieces and nephews, beloved family members and friends.
