Guy L. Evans

Guy L. Evans, 82, of Gatesville passed away on the evening of Nov. 30, 2020.

Graveside services were held Saturday, Dec. 5, in Restland Cemetery.

Guy was born Sept. 13, 1938, in Salem, New Mexico, to Bill and Bradie Evans. He grew up and attended school in Silver City, New Mexico. After high school Guy started ranching.

He met Dorothy Brown in 1956, and they were married four years later in Farmington, New Mexico, on Feb. 12, 1960. They were married for 41 years before Dorothy preceded him in death.

Guy was a mechanic and gunsmith and enjoyed working with wood and metal. Guy loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He could build and or repair anything.

Guy enjoyed trying different ideas, and perfecting thoughts he created. If you had an idea just bring it to Guy Evans and soon you had the result.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Evans; daughter Candy Krauss; parents; two brothers; and four sisters.

Guy is survived by his children, Lester Evans and wife Debbi, Nita Richardson and husband Dwayne, Clint Evans and wife Brenda and Dustin Evans; grandchildren Barbie Klecka, Chance Richardson, Aspen Watts, Vanessa Dowdy, Tasha Baker, Whitney Evans, Takota Richardson and Zane Evans; 16 great-grandchildren; and brother and best friend Homer Evans and wife Patsy.
