Freddie Medina

Freddie Medina Sr. was suddenly called home to the Lord on June 5, 2024.

A visitation will be held in Hamilton at Riley Funeral Home on Thursday, June 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. The service will be held at Riley Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, June 14, 11 a.m. followed by a graveside service in Oakwood Cemetery.

Freddie was a loving husband, father, “PoPo”, brother and friend to so many.

He was born Feb. 8, 1955, in Lampasas to Demenchio and Maria (Garza) Medina.

Freddie met and married the love of his life Henrietta Cortez on Sept. 1, 1979, in Comanche. They had three lovely children, Freddie Jr., Matthew and Diana.

He was a generous, faithful and devoted Christian, whose love for the Lord was the only thing he put before his family. The pride for his family was shown through his support in all their accomplishments whether he was taking his grandkids for a ride on the mower, supporting his children in their growing careers or picking on whoever was around at the moment. His laughter and love left a lasting impression on numerous brothers- and sisters- in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and those who worked alongside him. At first glance, Freddie seemed like a quiet, hardworking man, but if you gave him the opportunity for fellowship, you quickly became a lifelong friend.

Freddie is survived by his wife, Henrietta Medina of Hamilton; his three children, Freddie and Melissa Medina of Shallowater; Matthew and Hollie Medina of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Diana Medina and Shaw Pittman of Hamilton; he was the very proud “PoPo” to his nine beautiful grandchildren, Kierstin, Jordyn, Killie, Gavin, Brynlee, Mathias, Averee, Shaylee and Kinlee; siblings Joe and Virginia Medina, Adolph and Lucy Medina, Robert and Mickey Medina, Juanita and Ernest Zarate, Lenora Gutierrez, Anita Johnson, Theresa Medina and Alicia Reza.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Demenchio and Maria Medina; brothers- in-law, Rick Gutierrez and Albert Johnson; and sisters Susan Medina and Mary Atchley.

Romans 14:8- If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
