Donna McKelvy

Donna Carol Carr McKelvy, 63, passed peacefully at her home with family by her side in Grand Prairie on Oct. 27, 2019.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, Nov. 16, at 1 p.m. at Matthew Road Baptist Church, 4601 Matthew Rd, Grand Prairie.

Donna was born Aug. 10, 1956, at Methodist Hospital in Dallas. She was raised in Grand Prairie, with family roots in Hamilton.

She graduated from South Grand Prairie High School in 1974, where she studied cosmetology. After school she worked at a couple different salons before opening her own, which was named The Finishing Touch. Donna enjoyed country music dancing and spending time in Hamilton with her oldest son and grandchildren. She was also trackside support for her husband and sons’ dirt bike racing events for many years. Donna loved to cheer for her daughter at her dance recitals. She cherished and embraced being a mother of three children and took pride in raising them, and was blessed as well as by her three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bobby G. Carr.

Survivors include her mother, Alice Witzsche Carr; brother Ricky Carr; two sisters, Wanda Carr Nickson and Gaylon Carr Baze; three children, Mark Dearing and wife Brandi and their three children, John Dearing and wife Danielle and Bobbi Jean McKelvy.

May Donna rest in peace knowing she fulfilled her goal of raising three wonderful children that love and adore her now until forevermore.
