David Townsend

David Lee Townsend, 55, of Evant passed away Sunday, June 30, 2019.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 3, at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Evant. Burial will follow in Knox Cemetery in Evant.

David was born Dec. 2, 1963, to Cecil and Melba Townsend in Goldthwaite. They moved to Evant where David planted his roots and lived the rest of his life. He was a member of the Evant Volunteer Fire Department and enjoyed his time there. David also enjoyed fishing and hunting. Anyone that knew David knew that he was a jokester and enjoyed playing pranks on those he cared about. He loved spending time with his favorite lil’ ones.

David was preceded in death by his grandparents; father Cecil Townsend; and brother Cecil Townsend Jr.

He is survived by his mother, Melba Townsend; brother Billy Joe Townsend; sister Melba G Townsend, sister-in-law Ann Townsend; aunt and uncle Wanda and James Alexander; and numerous cousins.
