Cynthia Elaine Welch, 65, passed away Monday, Nov. 12, after a short battle with cancer surrounded by the love of her children, best friend and grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 17, at 2 p.m. in Evant Municipal Park.

Cindy was born in Ohio in 1953 to Alfred and Virginia Kenyon, the youngest of three daughters. She graduated high school and soon gave birth to a daughter, Tammy. Soon after she welcomed daughter, Melissa, then Josh.

In 1983, Cindy left Ohio and made her home in Llano. After 10 years, she welcomed daughters Stephanie, Stacy, Danielle and Brenna. She believed her greatest accomplishments were her seven children.

In Llano, she worked many years at the Circle K convenience store and then Head Start preschool.

In 2001, she moved to Evant, where she worked at Evant Grocery and then owned C & G Grocery. She was well known in the community and never greeted anyone without a smile. She took pride in watching her children succeed in their extracurricular activities. Her children’s friends were always treated as her own.

She was preceded in death by her parents of Columbus, Ohio, and daughter Tamara Berry of Hempstead.

Survivors include her children, Melissa Nobles and husband Marc of Denton, Josh Wilson of Kingsland, Stephanie Welch of Buchanan Dam, Stacy Welch of Lewisville, Danielle Welch of Evant, Brenna Dominguez and husband Robert of Dublin and son-in-law, John Berry of Austin; sisters Carol and Charlotte of Ohio; best friend Natalie Hall of Evant; 14 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
