Bobby Sellers
Robert “Bobby” Franklin Sellers, 74, of Hamilton, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2022, at home in Hamilton, surrounded by his family.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, at Riley Funeral Home in Hamilton with his brother Ted Sellers and Dr. Drew Dabbs officiating. Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Bobby was born March 10, 1948, in Hamilton to Frank Sellers and Jewell Sorley Sellers. He grew up in Hamilton and graduated from Hamilton High School. He attended Sam Houston State University. While earning a bachelor’s degree in music education, Bobby played trumpet in the SHSU jazz band, symphonic band and marching band.
He married Nancy Brumbalow Aug. 14, 1970, and they recently celebrated their 52nd anniversary. They moved back to Hamilton in 1972 where Bobby owned and operated Sellers’ Automotive until becoming the service manager at Brumbalow Dodge.
Bobby and Nancy were blessed with two sons, Miles and Kyle. Bobby was involved with the Hamilton Little League baseball program for more than 30 years. Upon his retirement, he spent the
following years playing with his grandchildren, fishing and being a local handyman with his brother Ted.
Bobby was a member of the Hamilton Lions Club and volunteered at the community center.
Bobby is survived by his wife Nancy Sellers; sons Miles (Gina) Sellers of Hamilton and Kyle (Kayla) Sellers of Jonesboro; grandchildren Brendan and Sydney Sellers; twin sister Barbara (John) Opryshek of Hamilton; brothers Ted (Nancy) Sellers and Stanley (Sharon) Sellers of Hamilton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Hamilton Public Library, Hamilton High School Band program or Hamilton Lions Club.
