Bobbi Harris
Barbara (Bobbi) Louise Harris is joyfully celebrating her new life in Heaven with her high school sweetheart!
Bobbi was born in Alliance, Nebraska, Aug. 19, 1932. She was married to her high school sweetheart, Lamar (Mark) Harris, for 70 years. Mark passed away in May 2020.
She was involved in many activities beginning at a young age, high school drum majorette to being active in PTA, cub scouts, brownies and Girl Scout leaders, Sunday school director at St. Paul’s Methodist in Tulsa and teaching crafts at the ladies groups at numerous churches. She was active at the Lutheran Church in Shive for many years.
One of Bobbi’s early accomplishments in life was working toward her pilot’s license. She loved flying alongside her spouse. One of her most memorable “funny flight episodes” was when she accidentally landed on a military base instead of her airport of destination. She was met with armed servicemen when she landed. She really enjoyed the unexpected attention!!
Bobbi’s love of animals was evident when she had a pet skunk as a child and over the years has had fish aquariums, guinea pigs, miniature Herefords, angus cows, alpacas, pet turkeys, dogs, pet geese, a cat, herds of deer, a horse, a parakeet and more.
Baking was a priority in her life. She always had baked goods available for family and friends. Her Christmas cinnamon roll wreath was enjoyed by many over the years along with her delicious cookies, pies and cakes.
Bobbi left behind her children, Michael Harris and wife Gail, Randall Harris and wife Teresa, Marla Harris and Sandra Harris; her brother, Bob Weyl and wife Bobbie; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were Friday, Feb. 26, in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Shive.
