Bill Sanders

William Edward “Bill” Sanders Sr., 94, passed away Sept. 10, 2023, in Gatesville.

Graveside services were Friday, Sept. 15, in Mount Olive Cemetery, Mills County. Services were under the direction of Stacy- Wilkins Funeral Home of Goldthwaite.

Bill was born Dec. 17, 1928, in Mullin, the son of William J. Sanders and Beulah Mae Canady.

He was married to Velda Violet Black Jan. 29, 1950, in Center City. He lived in Mills County all his life and was a Baptist. He was a rancher and worked in construction.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William J. and Beula Mae Canady Sanders; brothers Prentice Sanders, Jack Sanders, Glynn Sanders; and sisters Lucie Jenkin and Daisey Boyles.

Survivors include his wife, Velda Sanders; sons Ed and Diane Sanders and Glendon Sanders and his friend Mims, deceased; grandchildren Janae Medina and Michael, Angie Sanders and Jerry, Brian Sanders, Jamie Sanders and Alison and Staci King and Jason; great-grandchildren Dylan Sanders, Brennan Medina, Kaitlyn Sanders, Kylee Medina, Gavin Sanders, Travis Sanders, Jayden King, Jordyn King, Jacob King, Andrea Pollock and Joshua Pollock; and sister Ruby Alldredge of Mullin.

Honorary pallbearers were Jeff Shelton, Donald Parrish, Rodney Parrish and Ronnie Schultze.
