Amador DeLeon
Amador DeLeon, age 71, passed away February 14, 2019 at home. He was born on February 18, 1947, at home in Cego, to Manuel and Manuela (Benavides) DeLeon. He was one of eight children. He was married to Debbie Schwartz on April 28, 1989.
He was a peace officer for a number of years and later became a welder and was employed at Kalyn in Gatesville, where he retired in May 2009. He loved working in his garage, cooking out, and tinkering with just about anything.
Above anything else, he enjoyed hanging out with friends and family. He especially enjoyed his weekend visits with his sister Angie, and brothers Lupe and Albert. He also loved spending time with his brother Joe, who preceded him in death. He will be missed dearly.
He is preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Manuela DeLeon, brother Joe DeLeon, and sister Margie Diaz.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Debbie DeLeon of Heidenheimer; son, David DeLeon and wife Lois of Hamilton; daughter, Doris Glover and husband Dwayne of Hamilton; son, Henry DeLeon and wife Dana of Hamilton; daughter, Leonna Eggenberger and husband Evan of San Angelo; son, Chris DeLeon of Hamilton; son, Michael DeLeon of Huntsville; son, Jamie DeLeon of Hamilton; daughter, Janie Perez and husband Pepa of Sulpher Springs; sister, Angie Rodriguez; brothers, Albert DeLeon, Lupe DeLeon, Manuel DeLeon, and Raul DeLeon; 20 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and 1 on the way; along with many nieces, nephews, and other friends and family are also left to cherish his memories.
A visitation was held on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2019 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton following the service.
