Alvin Laxson
Alvin Edward Laxson, 84, of Hamilton died Aug. 13, 2022, in Fort Worth.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mr. Laxson was born May 25, 1938, in Clifton, the son of Lewis and Annie Laxson.
He spent his childhood in Mosheim. He received a football scholarship but decided to join the army after high school. He spent his army time stationed in Italy and learned to speak Italian. He worked at Bell Helicopter before retiring to the Texas coast and eventually Hamilton.
Al had many hobbies and interests. He won the Mr. Fort Worth bodybuilding competition and played football for the Fort Worth Texans. He coached little league sports, participated in YMCA Indian guides and built a neighborhood gym in his garage.
While living on the Texas coast, he sailed the Caribbean in his green sailboat he affectionately named Algae.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bill Laxson.
Survivors include his children, Debbie Dionne and Alan “Scott” Carlson; and two grandchildren, Marci and Nicole Dionne.
