Alan Kirkland

Kenneth “Alan” Kirkland, 59 passed away April 29, 2019, at home surrounded by family.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 8, at Barn Church in Hamilton, followed by an inurnment at Oakwood Cemetery.

Alan was born Sept. 14, 1959, in Hico Texas to Paul Kenneth Kirkland and Charlene Kirkland.

He dedicated his life to law enforcement. In 1988, he became a proud father of a daughter Jessica and then again in 1991 with son Justin.

Alan was a devoted son, father, grandfather and police officer. He held many titles over the years in law enforcement. For the last 11 years he served the citizens of Bosque County with his most recent assignment as Narcotics Investigator. Many knew him as “Big Al.”

There are so many more things to say and stories to tell about him. He will be greatly, missed by those who loved and knew him.

He is survived by his mother, Charlene; daughter Jessica Quezada and husband Andrew; son Justin Kirkland; brother Mike Kirkland and wife Beverly; and caretaker Janice Kirkland; three grandchildren, Jayden, Jayce and Bryce.

Services are under the direction of Riley Funeral Home.
