Bulldog seniors Bryson Tarpley, Sutton Lee, Chase Weaver and Caden Hopper, pictured (l-r) hoisting the bi-district championship trophy following a three-game series win over Anson, led the Dogs in capturing a band of hardware this season. In addition to leading the 24-12 Bulldogs to the third round of the playoffs, grabbing district, bi-district and area titles along the way, all four seniors were honored this week with all-district recognition. Weaver was named the District 7-2A Most Valuable Player for the second year in a row, and Tarpley was recognized as the district’s Defensive MVP. Hopper received first team honors as a pitcher, and Lee received an alldistrict first team nod as Hamilton’s reliable first baseman. Head Coach Jeff Timmons also announced at the annual HHS Athletic Banquet on Monday that Weaver was named by the Texas High School Baseball Coaches’ Association as a first team all-state selection for the second year in a row. Weaver recorded over 100 strikeouts during his senior campaign - his third consecutive year to do so - and has been selected to pitch in the 2023 THSBCA Diamond All-Star Game to be held in Round Rock on June 17.
