Hamilton’s storied cross country program had a delegation of three competitors qualify for the UIL 3A-Regional Cross Country meet hosted by Texas Tech University at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock on Monday of this week. After placing second in district, freshman Caleb Lengefeld ran a post-season best three-mile time of 17:21.50 in Lubbock to place 20th overall out of the region’s top 181 runners. Freshman Katie Galloway also earned a silver district medal and placed 49th overall in the 3A-Region I girls’ division. Galloway covered the two-mile course in a time of 13:13.90.

INSPIRATION - As Hamilton mourned the loss of Rocky Bates last week, his son Ty Bates took the field with a heavy heart in McGregor on Friday versus Rogers and gave an inspiring performance, grabbing a team leading six receptions for 100 yards and a touchdown. Turnovers muddy Bulldog chances

Don Henley’s “Seven Bridges Road” would have come in handy as the Bulldogs traveled to McGregor to take on the Eagles of Rogers last week. The game was originally scheduled to be a home game for the Eagles, but issues with flooding across much of central Texas forced a change of venue.
