Dear Editor,

I would like to thank all the folks that donated to the Salvation Army. The money is very helpful to people in need here in Hamilton County. I’ve said it many times -- we have a very generous town. So thank you so much!

Also, I’d like to thank all the volunteers this year. I was afraid we wouldn’t have much help because of the virus still lurking but it all turned out great. We didn’t have the Kettle manned as much as years past, but when it was, the locals really came thru.

Thanks to those of you that did several time slots. We had a good season.

Post receives balance for memorial

A present just in time for the New Year was recently received by American Legion Cunningham Post 222.

A check for $2,900 was given to the Hamilton County Veterans Memorial fund bringing the total to $65,000, enough to make the memorial a reality.

Holly Lawson donated the money.

“When I thanked her, she said she was happy to do it and was tired of seeing us bust our tails raising money for the memorial,” Robert Self, 1 st Vice Commander of the post, said.

The Hamilton County Child Protective Services Board wants to thank our wonderful community for all the support we have received. Your generous juror donations have made it possible for us to fulfill a wide range of needs for our children, from school clothing to birthday gifts to Christmas presents. When you serve on a jury, we really appreciate your remembering the children of Hamilton County by donating your juror pay to the CPS Board.

Dear Editor,

Over the past few weeks I’ve wandered around the community of Hamilton noticing the activity of street repairs, or maybe I should say; the lack of activity on street repairs.

Early this year, we were told the city had purchased a new piece of equipment for this very purpose and the city would start on some minor street repair once the designated crew received training on the machine’s maintenance and capabilities. Well where is this machine? Has anyone seen this equipment on our streets doing some repair work?

The Winter Wonderland at the Hamilton Historical Museum was huge success. HHM would like to thank the American Legion, vendors, a special thank you to Mike at Storms for sponsoring the bounce houses and electric company for the lights.
