Court votes to participate in emergency tower project

Last Friday morning, the Hamilton County Commissioners met for a Special Session to discuss and/or take action on the statewide emergency radio infrastructure tower project.

Hamilton County votes along state party lines

Hamilton voted in step with state voters in all races of the March 5 primary election.

Courthouse closed April 8

Hamilton County Courthouse has joined the list of businesses and offices that plan to be closed on April 8, the date of the total solar eclipse expected to darken the skies and bring thousands of spectators to Hamilton.

Hamilton County Judge James Yates said the audience looked like bobble heads when he presented the agenda item Tuesday morning.

EDC grounds finance plan for hangars

In a short but well attended special called meeting of the Hamilton Economic Development board of directors on Wednesday of last week, the directors voted 5-0 with one abstention not to enter into a joint venture with the city of Hamilton to construct an 11-airplane hangar at the Hamilton Municipal Airport.

Planes, tractors and more…oh my!

Last week provided a continuance of the saga regarding funding for an 11-airplane hangar out at the Hamilton Municipal Airport. The ebb and flow of debate over the past several months has spun into another century-old argument over how to fund an overhaul of the town’s aging infrastructure, including water lines, sewer lines and deteriorating streets. A new topic has now emerged and has become entangled in the ever growing web.
