Unofficial results are in for the City of Hamilton mayoral, schoolboard and city council elections. Saturday evening’s post-election tally shows incumbent Mayor Rodney Craddick receieved 121 votes while challenger Richard Buchanan received 219. In the City Council race, six candidates ran for the two positions being vacated by Richard Buchanan and Gary Haggard. Michele Cathey and Jeff Timmons received the majority of the votes with 186 and 169 respectively. Travis Beinhauer received 43 votes. Justin Burgan received 106 votes. Incumbent Gary Haggard received 159 votes. Danny Whitehead received 64 votes. The swearing-in ceremony for mayor and city council members will be held at City Hall 200 E. Main Friday, May 10 at 2 p.m. In the school board election, three candidates ran for two positions. Andy Roberts was appointed to fill the spot after Diana Freeman’s resignation and Dr. Randy Lee’s term expired. Roberts and Alan Watson received the majority of votes with 437 and 272 respectively. Former superintendent Clay Tarpley received 213 votes. About 13 percent of voters turned out for the election.
