HHS raises awareness, funds For Central American artists

From May 2 to 15, Hamilton High School’s Spanish II class will be selling hand-woven bracelets, or ‘pulseras’ in Spanish, to empower the artists who make them in Nicaragua and Guatemala. The sale was organized through the Pulsera Project, a fair trade nonprofit organization that empowers and educates people in the U.S. and Central America through pulsera sales.

Military, tip and prayers

Please don’t forget to go out and vote for our Hamilton city council. Get out and exercise your free voting ability and choose well our Hamilton city council. They have a big, heavy job of taking care of our town and each one of us that votes has a part in it. If you don’t vote, you can’t gripe or complain!

Hamilton’s Got Talent!

Hamilton ISD drama department hosted the first ever Hamilton’s Got Talent event Monday night, in which some of HISD’s most talented students performed. Winners of the competion were Hannah Ward, elementary, Kaatje Jarrell, junior high and Isaac Jarrell, high school.

 

CASA seeks volunteers to help abused children ”

In 2018, CASA Cross Timbers Area served 168 children in 102 cases – the tragic news is that there were 214 children in our area in legal Department of Family Protective Services responsibility. There were not enough volunteers to meet the needs of all children.

“Based on the current 2019 numbers, we anticipate the number of children we need to serve this year to be even higher,” said Judy Walker, CASA CTA Executive Director. “This greatly increases our need for volunteers.

TITANIC SAILS AGAIN. Fifth grade students and teachers at Ann Whitney Elementary shined their shoes, fluffed their hats and polished up their manners for the annual Titanic luncheon on Monday.
