Jerry Massingill

Jerry Keith Massingill, 82, of Hamilton, passed away Monday, Feb. 7, 2022.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, at Riley Funeral Home Chapel.

Jerry was born April 15, 1939, to James Burl and Grace Mae Sellers Massingill.

Jerry graduated the class of 1957 as an All-American High School Football player from Hamilton. He used his football talents to continue his education at Tarleton College and Commerce East Texas, earning a Master’s degree.

Jerry spent 31 years teaching, coaching and as superintendent of numerous schools. He also was a rancher and auctioneer. He loved roping in rodeos, fishing and riding horses with his grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Burl and Grace Mae Massingill, daughter Mona Massingill and sister Maxine Thompson.

Jerry is survived by son James Keith Massingill and wife Lori; his sweetheart Connie Long; sister Donna Howell; grandkids David Ramirez, Issac Massingill, Topis Massingill and Rylei Massingill; five great-grandkids; and several nieces and nephews.
