Pete Lilljedahl
K.L. “Pete” Lilljedahl, 75, died peacefully with his wife of 55 years by his side on Sunday, Sept. 26, 2021.
Please join the family to celebrate the light and life of this incredible man at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at Jonesboro Baptist Church, 11420 N. State Highway 36 in Jonesboro.
Pete was born Oct. 26, 1945, in Gatesville. He graduated from Jonesboro High School and attended Tarleton State University before bravely serving his country in the Army and Air Force from 1966 to 1972. He completed his service as a decorated veteran.
Throughout his life and career, he pursued his varied interests with a passion. From diesel mechanic to maritime ship captain to doctor of holistic medicine and medical massage therapist, he successfully recreated his life’s pursuits over and over again, always using his time and talents to bring joy and serve others. He was larger than life, and he always filled the room with love, laughter, and no shortage of jokes!
Above all, he loved the Lord and loved to worship. He had a firm foundation of faith, which was the very heartbeat of who he was and how deeply he cared for everyone around him.
Pete was the definition of a devoted family man; he loved his family fiercely and unconditionally with a heart bigger than Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Ernestine Lilljedahl, and his brothers, Kirby, Charles and Don Lilljedahl.
He is survived by his college sweetheart and loving wife Janet Lilljedahl; his son Bobby Lilljedahl, daughter-in-law Krissy and grandchildren Lila, Jace and Elli; his son Will Lilljedahl, daughter-in-law Becky and grandchildren Alora and Evelee; and his sister Edythe Lilljedahl.
