Marjorie Laney
Marjorie Jane Klatt Laney died April 3, 2021, after a lengthy illness.
She was born July 13, 1941, to Harold Seibert and Lydia Marwitz Klatt.
As Marjorie had no children of her own, family was very important to her. She was raised on the family farm in Aleman. She helped with farm chores, but being the oldest, she more often cared for the younger siblings while her parents were busy. She loved to cook and garden, once even having a commercial greenhouse and truck garden.
Marjorie graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1959, attended Tarleton then worked at City Drug and as a telephone operator in Hamilton and Stephenville. She moved to Fort Worth where she worked for various companies, and she retired from AT&T.
Marjorie was confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Aleman and was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Fort Worth, where she was actively involved before her illness.
Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents, brother Waylon Klatt and sister Priscilla Klatt Anderson.
She is survived by her brother, Randy Klatt and wife Cail; sister Uneeda Klatt Roberts and husband Rodney; brother-in-law Jesse Anderson; and numerous nieces and nephews who were like grandchildren, Jared Klatt and his sons Cooper and Chase, Audrea Anderson Plowman and daughter Sara Amy Anderson and sons Alexander and Luke, Grayson Anderson and sons Grayson and Landon and Jeffery Roberts; step-nieces and -nephews Chris Nilson, Cody Pardy, Kimberly and Nicholas Nilson and Dottie Nicholson and daughter Alissa; and cousins Gale Klatt Ferguson and Bernadine Marwitz Krueger, who were especially dear to her.
