Lydia Wagner
Lydia Augusta Anna Peters Wagner passed away July 29, 2020, in Hamilton.
A graveside service was held Monday, Aug. 3, in Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery, Pottsville.
Mrs. Wagner was born Aug. 29, 1926, in Shive to Mr. and Mrs. Gus Peters, the youngest of 10 children.
She was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Shive, and confirmed March 17, 1940, in St. Paul Lutheran Church by Rev. G. C. Senff. She went to the Shive school.
Lydia married Carl Louis Bethke in 1959, and together they owned and operated a grocery store/service station in Hamilton until his death in 1981. She then worked at a drycleaner in Hamilton and loved the customers.
Lydia married Leamon Carl Adam Wagner June 29, 1991. At that time, she became a housewife, and together they farmed and ranched in the Hamilton area.
Lydia enjoyed serving at her church, participated in the Home Demonstration Club, and attending family reunions. Lydia’s greatest achievement in life was to serve and help others.
In fall 2015 they moved to the Hamilton Health Care Home. Leamon passed away July 23, 2020.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Anna Nord, Ida Carlson, Marie Hunter, Paula Eisen and Freida Neff; and brothers Gus, Carl, Fritz and Otto Peters.
Lydia is survived by sister in-law Lorine Peters; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Darman and Jane Wagner; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Lydia’s family would like to thank the Hamilton Health Care Home and Solaris Hospice for their loving care and concern.
