John Islas

John Islas, 58, passed away on Monday, July 26, 2021, in Waco.

John was born to Perfecto and Abelia (Solis) Islas in Robstown on July 16, 1963.

He loved fishing, pitching horseshoes and playing softball. John enjoyed every moment he got to spend with his children, grandchildren and family.

He loved his children and the many nieces and nephews that he helped raise more than life itself. He will forever be remembered as the man, the myth and the legend.

John was preceded in death by his parents; sister Gloria Soliz; and brother Roberto Islas.

He is survived by his children, Tabitha Workman, Rowdy Islas and Roberto Islas; grandchildren Braxton Workman and Rowdy Juan Islas; sisters Dora Sanchez and Irma Riggs; nieces Rebecca Islas, Rachel Islas, Sara Sandoval and Kimberly Bates; nephews Randy Islas, Robert Flores and John Flores; and numerous other relatives who loved him dearly.
