Guy L. Evans, 82, of Gatesville passed away on the evening of Nov. 30, 2020.

Graveside services were held Saturday, Dec. 5, in Restland Cemetery.

Guy was born Sept. 13, 1938, in Salem, New Mexico, to Bill and Bradie Evans. He grew up and attended school in Silver City, New Mexico. After high school Guy started ranching.

He met Dorothy Brown in 1956, and they were married four years later in Farmington, New Mexico, on Feb. 12, 1960. They were married for 41 years before Dorothy preceded him in death.

Barbara Jane (Hedin) Damron

Barbara Jane (Hedin) Damron, 78, passed away Dec. 3, 2020, at Hamilton Health Care Center.

Funeral services were held Dec. 8 at Riley Funeral Home with burial in Central Texas Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.

Barbara was born in Weymouth, Massachusetts, Sept. 1, 1942.

Barbara was a United States Army veteran and met her husband while they both were serving their country in Korea. When they returned to the States, they were both stationed at Fort Hood, and then they married. They retired from the Army and raised their family in Central Texas.

William Morris Turner

William Morris Turner, 83, of Elgin, passed away surrounded by his loving family Tuesday morning, Nov. 24, 2020.

Visitation was Nov. 28 at Elgin Funeral Home, and graveside services followed in McDade Cemetery with the Rev. Hans Lillejord presiding.

William was born April 3, 1937, to Euell and Ruby Ola Turner in Elgin. His grandmother nick-named him “sugar man,” so if you were a childhood friend, that’s probably how you remember him.

Graveside services were Monday, Nov. 23, in Cradan Cemetery in Mills County under the direction of Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home.

Mildred Riewe

Mildred Selma Amelia Schulz Riewe, 94, passed away in Houston Nov. 16, 2020, after a brief illness.

Graveside services were held Nov. 21, at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Pottsville with the Rev. Teresa Davis of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating.

Mildred was born Aug. 1, 1926, to Hugo and Martha (Zimmermann) Schulz, on the family farm near Pottsville. She was baptized Aug. 22 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville and confirmed there on Dec. 19, 1939.

On Sept. 10, 1950, she married Clarence Victor Riewe, also of Pottsville, at Trinity.
